I've finally got some sleep. What a difference that makes! I've some energy, even a bit of bounce in my step. I've been doing unhealthy things for the last months: too much working, forgetting to eat and very scant training. I've been getting faster, but only by very small increments, not that it really matters that much. With everything that needs juggling in 2015, my running goals this year are fairly simple - (a) avoid injury, (b) do each event a little faster than last year, (c) enjoy the adventure and (d) appreciate the support & friendship of fellow runners.
Mojo Running Club will finally(!!) be released this week. Creating the web application has been something of an adventure. If you're curious about how it looks click here. We're offering something rather different to your GPS devices - a supplement to them rather than a competitor. The online tools provided via a GPS watch might allow you to review each training session in detail; the My Mojo Personal Log helps you build a progress picture of your training and performances, whilst taking into account sleep, diet, overworking etc. It's not necessarily only for those trying for super fast times; it's for all of us who need to do more than run and want the satisfaction of some progress in our running.
I'm off now to bound around a freshly mown field with my dogs. Well, the red-haired eejit (Hungarian Viszla) will bound and I'll run fast enough to enjoy the spring of earth beneath my feet. The Weimaraner could do with a bit more training if she's to make the most of summer holiday adventures in the hills. She's developed a habit of only doing warm-ups and cool downs. As soon as we start doing reps or tempo running she opts to coach or check out the wild life in the hedgerows.
